Shaviyani Atoll is located about 270 km north of Malé, the capital city of the Maldives. The atoll consists of 51 islands, out of which 16 are inhabited. The islands are small and scattered, surrounded by crystal-clear waters, lagoons, and coral reefs. The atoll's unique geographical position allows it to offer some of the best snorkeling and diving spots in the Maldives, with coral reefs teeming with vibrant marine life.

Shaviyani Atoll is accessible via Funadhoo Airport, which connects the atoll to Velana International Airport in Malé. Speedboats and ferries connect the atoll’s islands and are the primary means of transportation between islands.
Shaviyani Atoll is steeped in Maldivian cultural heritage, and visitors to the atoll can experience local festivals, traditional music, and dance, as well as witness the craftsmanship of local artisans. Fishing is central to the local way of life, and traditional dhoni-building (boat-building) is an important craft on many of the islands.
