Faafu Atoll, also known as Northern Nilande Atoll, is situated south of Malé, approximately 120 km away from the capital. The atoll consists of 23 islands, of which five are inhabited. It is bordered by the Dhaalu Atoll to the south and Meemu Atoll to the north. The geographical layout of the atoll includes a stunning collection of coral reefs, sandbanks, and small islands surrounded by crystal-clear waters.
The atoll has a population of around 4,000 people, most of whom are engaged in fishing, agriculture, and tourism-related activities. Faafu Atoll’s small population allows for a peaceful and community-oriented lifestyle, where traditional Maldivian culture is deeply integrated into daily life.
